DIANA LELONEK

Graduated from the department of Photography in the Faculty of Multimedia Communication at the University of the Arts in Poznan (PL). PhD at Interdisciplinary PhD Studies, University of the Arts in Poznań.

In Diana Lelonek’s work art intersects with activism and science. Her projects are critical responses to the processes of over-production, unrestrained growth and degradation of the environment. She uses photography, video, sounds, random found objects and living matter such as moss, mould and bacteria as her media.



Initiator of “The Buried Landscape” project. Winner of many awards, incl. Polityka’s Passport Award in Visual Arts Category (2019), Award of the Vordemberge-Gildewart Foundation (2018), Show Off at Krakow Photomonth (2014), nomination for the “Talenty Trójki”, prize of Polish Radio (2017), nomination to Grand Prix Fotofestival Łódź (2018). Her works have been shown, among others, at Riga International Biennale of Contemporary Art RIBOCA; Edith-Russ-Haus for Media Art, Oldenburg; Culturescapes Festival, Basel; Center of Contemporary Art, Warsaw; Arsenal Gallery, Białystok, Musee de l’Elysee, Lausanne; Museum of Modern Art Cracow (MOCAK), Cracow; Cracow Photomonth; Temporary Gallery, Cologne; Museo Amparo, Mexico; Photographic Art Museum, Tokio.
