KOLEKTYW ŁASKI
We are a group of female artists-activists who met and became friends while studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Each one of us develops individual projects, but we are united by the need to create socially engaged art collectively. Our works oscillate between history, memory, gender, feminism, ecology and identity. We believe in sisterhood and the effectiveness of art. Our first project entitled „Nowy Śpiewnik Patriotyczny” ("The New Patriotic Songbook") was initiated in March 2018 and we keep on working on it consistently. The project received an honourable mention in the Young Wolves 2018 competition.

In our works we tend to recycle the content – rewrite well-known lyrics – from the Polish national anthem to Britney Spears' songs – enriching them with feminist, pacifist and climate crisis-related content. Intercepting mainstream hits allows us to go beyond the world of art galleries.
We founded Kolektyw Łaski to support and befriend each other. Years of mutual work have brought us closer than the years we spent studying together. And this is probably the most feminist aspect of our work.
