MAREK BEYLIN

I look at reality with anger and emotion, but at the same time I’m trying to understand what shapes it and how. I have not yet abandoned the hope that we can make this world a better place. This belief has led me to writing the book “Climat, Left, Sisterhood. The Revolutions continue (as the Counterrevolutions do)” (Krytyka Polityczna, 2021). In the book I bring up the topic of black feminism, as I believe that sisterhood formulated on the basis of that thought is the best strategy for reformation of the world and the fight for the climate today.
EXCERPTS FROM THE BOOK︎︎︎
I have been working as a journalist for several decades now (mostly for „Gazeta Wyborcza” and the monthly theater magazine “Dialog”) writing abot ideas, culture, politics, and social change. I myself over the years have been growing and evolving in this atmosphere of solidarity and emancipation, and due to that I now feel more optimistic about the transformation of the society.
PS I am grateful to filmmaker Olga Perkowska, and the creator of the Climate Plateau, Rita Müller, for giving me the opportunity for a new form of expression.
